‘FAITH’ is a Charity that works among the homeless and those on low incomes.
Traditionally this has mainly been to those who have some addiction whether to alcohol or drugs
and who are living either "on the street" or in squats or other temporary 'accommodation'.
We run a Tea Bar every Sunday supplying hot drinks, snacks, Pot Noodle, etc.
Other evenings we have volunteer teams to take food and drink around the town centre
on what we call "Sandwich Runs"
We are funded entirely by private donations.
We have a small part time staff and rely on a small army of volunteers.
Reading Festival
We have become part of the tradition of Reading Festival over many years.
Again we choose to give away the food and drink
(although we will accept donations if they are offered)
Our hope is that the free gift of food or drink serves as a small illustration of
the free gift of salvation which is ‘eternal life in Jesus Christ’.
Jesus had an agenda which was entirely selfless.
He came to serve mankind.
He came to heal
He came, in his own words, "to seek and to save the lost"
Ultimately
he gave his life - for you, me, everyone.
Jesus said,
“The
truth will set you free”
